Merging in-person field trips with analysis of different works.

Cincinnati Art and Architecture is the most unique class I have ever partaken in.

Throughout the semester, my classmates and I traveled around our home, the city of Cincinnati. We learned the depths of its complex history by stepping into physical spaces, examining countless pieces of art, and roaming around the numerous neighborhoods that make up the midwestern city. Being the fastest-growing city during the start of western exploration, the city has a rich past. Each week, we explored, read, and reflected.

As a result of this semester, my knowledge of Cincinnati has extended immensely. Starting all the way back to the 1800s, this class has not only made me aware of many historical facts but as well as the cultural influences of this midwestern hidden gem. I realized the layers of artistic talent, diversity, and grew to see an even deeper layer of beauty. This class also helped me to further my writing skills. As a part-time researcher, writing is a hobby I have always enjoyed but admittingly isn't my strongest skill. One aspect of the class I loved was the small yet open the class was. I learned how to intently listen and bounce off others in conversation. Being a part of such an intelligent group was an integral part of my learning experience.

While this class was a challenge. The enjoyment I got from it is greater than any other class I have participated in. Curiosity in me has grown. I want to share my knowledge with others and continue to explore the city. Being my first honors experience, the next ones have big shoes to fill.
